We are pleased to present the 3rd issue of our CUT newsletter. 

In the first 6 months 2016 we have again been able to accomplish a lot of tasks which we would like to update you about:

We continued the exciting company growth, increased our production work force and established new international distribution partners. Our by far biggest project has been the annex to our production building which will be finished within a couple of weeks. More details on that and other interesting topics can be found in this newsletter – we hope you enjoy the reading of our CUT 01/2016!

MOZART annex in final spurt.

Mission (almost) accomplished: The annex to our production plant is almost finished and the few open jobs are to be done shortly. So within the next 2 weeks production can start moving in which will give the urgently required extra space after several years of substantial growth. Renovation of fiber packaging has started.

After many years “in service” we felt that it was about time to renovate the traditional MOZART packaging for our staple and glass fiber blades. Now we can offer a uniform look in typical MOZART colors, same style you already know from our industrial blades and blades for the trades. Of course we left the stability and functionality unchanged, in particular the possibility of lifting the blades into a sloped position for a better and safer blade access (see photo). It is planned to have a running change which should be finished by the end of 2016.

It’s certainly no new knowledge that those trade partners are most successful in their markets who have profound product and application knowledge. That's why we have been most pleased by the large number of partners who have requested and already received training here at our plant. Besides an intensive walk of the production and explanation of each work step right at the machines we have offered the participants a detailed theoretical training as well. Mozart sample case now available.

High quality products deserve an appealing presentation: The Mozart sample case is the ideal tool for Mozart resellers, reps and agencies to show Mozart products “to go”, e.g. for customer visits, trade fairs and showrooms.
The set consists of a high-quality, lockable case (51 x 41 x 19 cm) and four inserts made of polyurethane foam, of which three can be inserted into the case at a time:
  • Tray 1: magnetic board in Plexiglas sheath (for free arrangement of all kinds of blades)
  • Tray 2: universal blades and handles (for flooring trades etc.)
  • Tray 3: industrial blades (film and foil etc.)
  • Tray 4: precision cutting blades and handles (plastics deburring, leather cutting etc.)

Optimized DC-coating for slitting blades.

Depending on the application, cutting edges with special coatings can increase the service life of technical blades considerably. The most popular hard coating in the blade industry is currently titanium nitride (TiN). It increases the blade’s service life up to a factor of 2-4 and accounts for an ever larger share of Mozart blades.
Diamond Coating (DC) is a special coating which promises a particularly high wear resistance combined with a low coefficient of friction. Mozart provides DC, a thin layer of amorphous carbon, for selected slitting blades for several months now, and is currently evaluating the first application results.

Trade fairs in the 1st and 2nd half of 2016.

In the first half of the year Mozart successfully exhibited at a number of international trade fairs. Besides Domotex in Hanover, the world's leading trade show for carpets and floor coverings, JEC in Paris for composite materials, and the classic Hardware Fair in Cologne, Iranplast fair in Tehran is particularly noteworthy. Mozart was there for the first time, exhibiting with its Iranian partner Parsian Polytex and two other German companies at a joint stand. All German company representatives were impressed by the famous Persian hospitality and the potentials of the country, which has an enormous backlog in many areas after the sanctions have been lifted. Another highlight was the ITM Textile Machinery Exhibition in Istanbul. There Mozart held aloft the banner of blades on the impressive stand of its Turkish representation Ikiler. Congratulations again to the Ikiler team, which celebrated its 50th company anniversary during the exhibition in the midst of numerous suppliers.

For the second half of the year there are more exciting trade shows coming up:
• K 2016, October 19th-26th in Duesseldorf: the world's leading trade fair for the plastics industry. Visit Mozart in Hall 11 at booth F59.
• Compamed, November 14th-17th in Duesseldorf: fair for suppliers to the medical device industry.
